The new APL Hi Fi DAC

Apl Hi Fi is very excited and proud to announce that the new proprietary DAC is near production and we wanted our friends to have the opportunity to get the first look at it. Please feel free to offer your comments and suggestions as we value your opinions.
We will announce soon when we will begin taking orders. This is the first product in a line of many to come . A matching transport with the same design will be available early next year. Digital amps and speakers will follow .
This is the beginning of a new era in our history at Apl Hi Fi. We want to sincerely thank all of the customers that have stayed with us through this transition . Please enjoy the prototype pictures.

Standard AES/EBU, S/PDIF, Optical, USB inputs and RCA SE outputs. Proprietary S/PDIF-like input with Microprocessor control for connection to the APL Hi-Fi transport is also standard. This will allow for SACD and DVD-A playback. Optional HDMI, Fire Wire and Analog inputs are in the works. Balanced IN/OUT is optional.
Internal topology is two R-Core power transformers with all linear high quality/low noise power supplies, 6x fully differential top line AKM DACs which equals 12 DACs per channel, 211KHz/32bit Upsampler, H-Attenuator (defeatable with switch on the back) and Hybrid Analog stage with double 6H30 tubes providing very low output impedance for eventual direct-to-amp connection. Remote controlled attenuation with 0.5db step, slow and sharp digital filter roll-off, input selection and dimmer. The blue LED display will show APL Hi-Fi at power on, then will count warm-up and then will show the channel number on the left and Attenuator level value 0-99 on the right. All inputs will have the function to "remember" the volume level they were previously set at.
The front panel is 10 mm Aluminum which will be CNC-ed and Laser-ed. The bottom part of the "V" shape will be raised and somewhat polished. The top part would be "hairline". This will create 2-tone 3D look that I find very nice. The rest of the enclosure will be made of thick INOX which is the European standard Stainless-Steel
